PRAYER LIST

GRACE CHURCH:  Congratulations to Mark & Kathrynwho were united in marriage yesterday at our church.  We wish them God’s blessings in their lives together.  Happy Birthday to Dina Dreise, who will be 78 on August 6th.  This past Wednesday Nell returned home from the hospital.  She is now waiting to see which procedures need to happen from here.  We pray that God will strengthen Nell and give her patience as she waits.

FIRST CHURCH:  We are thankful that no one is in hospital at the present time.  Continue to pray for all who are under doctor’s care, especially Jack, who continues to experience weakness from his treatments, and those who are sick at home, or confined to nursing homes.  Thank God for the blessings of wedding anniversaries and birthdays.  We celebrate with Mrs. Jean, who will turn 78 on Tuesday August 3.  May you be blessed with a wonderful day!  Pray also for those who are vacationing, for safety and for good rest

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Neighbourlink Presentation: On Sunday evening August 8, Diane Lalonde from Neighbourlink will be asked to present an overview on the work that is being done through our collective churches in Chatham.  Her presentation will take place during the evening service and will be available for follow-up questions after the service. 

Room available for rent:  Looking for a single female tenant, living areas are shared, your choice of two upstairs bedrooms.  Available as of August 10th.  For further information, please contact Suzanne at 519-354-1375.   

Come out on to Grace Church’s movie nights.   Faith like Potatoes, a 2006 film from South Africa, is about a farmer who, having fled the violence of his former homeland of Zambia, starts over with his family in South Africa. In difficult circumstances and faced with many challenges and frustrations, Angus Buchan is becoming consumed with fear and anger – until he experiences the reality of his faith. While still going through trials and difficulties, Angus learns to trust that God is in control and will answer when we call to Him. Come out on August 13 at 7pm to see this inspiring movie for yourself! (Not recommended for children under 13.) 

Gift Certificates and Gift Cards:  Chatham Christian Schools is open every Thursday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.   Gift Certificates/Cards can be purchased during this time at the school.   Stock up for the summer and purchase enough for 5 weeks and pay with 5 cheques (one dated for each week).  If you are not familiar with the program, please stop by the school and we will explain.  Remember your participation really helps the school. 

Friendship Bible Hour is having their annual picnic on Saturday, August 7th starting at 10:30 a.m. until 1 o’clock at the Free Reformed Church on Gregory Dr. East.  Teachers please remember to bring a salad.

As we look towards a new season of ministry in our churches, a special Day of Encouragement in Ancaster is being organized for your church on October 16th! This is the venue to be equipped and be inspired for the opportunities to touch people’s lives with the love of Christ. Registration forms and links will be available online at
www.diaconalministries.com.  Promotional materials (including registration forms) will be mailed to your church in the first week of August.  

SENIOR'S DAY:   All Senior's are invited to SENIOR'S DAY at Lakewood Christian Campground on Thursday, August 19, 2010. Coffee will be ready at 9:00 a.m.  The speaker for the day will be Pastor Ken Benjamins, with the MC being Pastor Warren Kimball. Bring your own lunch and lawn chairs. Refreshments will be provided.  Come out for a day of fun and fellowship! Cost for the day is $6.00. Call Lakewood at 519-899-4415 for more information.
