MORNING OFFERINGS:

March 25, 2012 – Missionary Support: Grace Church has the privilege of supporting:

Dan and Teresa Heath in Makaa, Dorothy Meyer in Belize, Istifanus Gimba (working with CRWRC in Mozambique, South Africa), and Rev. George Sayler (CRC church planter in London ON.).  The church is called to carry out the Great Commission both at home and abroad.  Today we have the opportunity to support and assist our missionaries.  They are our brothers and sisters who have went out on our behalf to build the Church of Jesus Christ and extend the Kingdom of God all around the world.

April 1, 2012 – GEMs: The mission of GEMS Girls' Clubs is to help bring girls into a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. Our vision is to see girls around the world actively and enthusiastically expressing love for God and others - girls equipped, motivated, and passionately engaged in living out their faith.  And we'll do this by learning about Jesus Christ, what He has done for us, and His plans for each of our lives.

The Gems and Calvinist Cadet Corps are part of a larger organization called Dynamic Youth Ministries.  Dynamic Youth Ministries oversees services such as printing, mailing, physical plant maintenance, and accounting for all 3 programs.  Today’s offering goes to Grand Rapids for the financial needs of overseeing the Gems program.

PRAYER MINISTRY:

§  Please come Sunday mornings at 9am and join in prayer for our church and community.  We meet in Room #2 (in the lower level)

§  Join us for prayer following the worship services in the room at the back of the sanctuary.  All requests remain confidential.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

ANNUAL REPORTS BOOOKLET: All Committee Chairs and Program leaders have received a letter in their mailslot requesting a report for the Annual Reports Booklet.  If you did not receive a letter and have been overlooked, please let me know.  Please have these reports submitted by Wednesday April 4th.  If you have any questions feel free to let me know. – thank you, Julie, Grace CRC Secretary & Worship Coordinator

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2012: We would love to have you help with Vacation Bible School this year, but please let us know by April 15 what you can commit to. Sorry for the strong language in the first announcement, I just wanted to convey the urgency of the need for a quick response. Much planning goes into a successful VBS and the most stress comes from filling the volunteer positions. When these spaces are filled, then it becomes a joy to prepare together for spreading the gospel to the neighbourhood children. Looking forward to a blessed year of outreach! Feel free to call Myrna Panjer or Wendy Horneman (Jackie is gone to Florida from March 26 to April 3.)

E-MAILS NEEDED: Council would like to streamline some of the communication that goes out to the congregation ie. funeral details, etc. and they would like to do this via e-mails.  Please let Julie know at grace@ciaccess.com what your e-mail address is so that we can add you to the list so that you are not overlooked in receiving this information.  Please send Julie a quick e-mail to be added in to the list and to confirm your e-mail even if she already has your e-mail.  (For those who do not have a computer, the elders will still phone you with the information).  Thank you.

LIBRARY NEWS:   You want a suspense filled book, read “No Safe Haven” by Kimberley and Kayla R. Woodhouse.  A sabotaged small plane crashes in a remote mountain area.  Only one man can keep them alive, a mysterious last-minute passenger.  Can he be trusted?  This is an adventure thriller that will keep you turning the pages.

“THE POWER OF A WHISPER” DVD SERIES:  The Prayer Committee is excited to offer this 4 week series entitled "The Power of a Whisper"  by Bill Hybels.  This series will teach us how to discern the "voice" of God from other voices competing for our attention, and how to let His voice navigate our daily lives.   It will run Sunday March 25, April 1, April 15, and April 22 from 8:45am-9:45am, in the first room at the bottom of the stairs on the left.  Refreshments will be provided.   For more information call Jeff or Shelly.

REMINDER: Next Sunday is the 1st Sunday of the month – do you know what this means?  You’re right – CADET POP CAN FUNDRAISER SUNDAY.  Please bring your pop cans to the church Sunday morning and we will have Cadets on hand to help you.

FOOD DONATIONS NEEDED: It is important to give food to the poor in our community not only on special holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, but throughout the year.  We would like to encourage each of you to bring non-perishable food items to the church each month.  There is a bin underneath the mail slots that we would like to fill up each month and bring to one of the local food banks:  Salvation Army, Outreach for Hunger, and Praise Fellowship.  Please help us by bringing non-perishable food items to the church this upcoming Sunday.  Let’s make a difference in the lives of those around us!

Nominations of Office Bearers: The following members have been nominated for the office of Deacon: Roseanne, Susie, Jackie, Paul, Natalie, Betty, and Theresa V. The following members have been nominated for the office of Elder: Frank, Will H, Ron N, and Bill V. This year we require (2) Deacons and (3) Elders to fill the vacancies. On Sunday, April 15th there will be an opportunity for the congregation to affirm these brothers and sisters for their respective offices.  The affirmed names will be drawn on Sunday April 29th. Council requests that you remember these people and this process when you come to our Lord in your prayers!
