MORNING OFFERINGS:
April 8, 2012 – Home Missions: Christian Reformed Home Missions follows Gods lead in the movement of the Gospel in North America. Their goal is to give leadership to the CRC in its task of bringing the gospel to the people in Canada and the United States. Working through regional teams, Home Missions supports a diverse group of church planters, pastors, campus ministries and others who are called to renew communities together.
April 15, 2012 – CRWRC: The CRWRC responds on your behalf to the needs of people who suffer from poverty, hunger, disaster and injustice around the world. CRWRC also works in North America to help restore communities that have been seriously affected by disasters and to help churches and individuals recognize the importance of living justice and loving mercy. It seeks to build a world where people work together to carry out acts of justice and mercy within their own community and around the world.
PRAYER MINISTRY:
§ Please come Sunday mornings at 9am and join in prayer for our church and community. We meet in Room #2 (in the lower level)
§ Join us for prayer following the worship services in the room at the back of the sanctuary. All requests remain confidential.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
CHRIST CANDLE: As part of our Easter service, we will be receiving the gift of light. From now on this candle will represent Christ’s presence with us in our worship service and will be lit each Sunday. When the children leave for Sunday School, they will light a lantern from the candle and will lead the children out with this light to show that Christ’s presence goes with them as well to their classes.
NEW ON THE CHURCH’S WEBSITE: We have created a Google Calendar for our church that you can access from our church’s website on the home page. Check it out!
Nominations of Office Bearers: The following members have been nominated for the office of Deacon: Roseanne B, Jackie B, Paul B, Susie H, Natalie N, Myrna P, Betty S, and Theresa V. The following members have been nominated for the office of Elder: Frank B, Will H, Ron N, and Bill V. This year we require (2) Deacons and (3) Elders to fill the vacancies. On Sunday, April 15th there will be an opportunity for the congregation to affirm these brothers and sisters for their respective offices. The affirmed names will be drawn on Sunday April 29th. Council requests that you remember these people and this process when you come to our Lord in your prayers!
LIBRARY NEWS: Joe C. Rosenberg’s latest novel, “The Tehran Initiative”. The world is on the brink of disaster. Iran has just conducted its first atomic weapons test. The White House fears Jerusalem will strike first. With the stakes high and few viable options left, a CIA operative team is sent to track down and sabotage Iran’s nuclear warheads. But will they be too late?

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2012: We would love to have you help with Vacation Bible School this year (July 9-13), but please let us know by April 15 what you can commit to. Much planning goes into a successful VBS and the most stress comes from filling the volunteer positions. When these spaces are filled, then it becomes a joy to prepare together for spreading the gospel to the neighbourhood children. Looking forward to a blessed year of outreach! Feel free to call Myrna or Wendy.
Do you have a van we can borrow? Four youth and 2 adults are will be volunteering with Youth Unlimited SERVE in Woodstock, ON from July 7-14. We need a van to to drive for the week we are there. If you have a van or another 6 passenger vehicle we can borrow that week please talk to Pastor Jake.
