SENIOR HOME MINISTRY:

Ø There is a worship service today at Chatham Retirement Resort at 3pm

Ø There is a worship service today at MapleCity Residence at 2pm.

Ø There is a worship service on Friday at Residence-on-the-Thames at 10am

MORNING OFFERINGS:

April 22, 2012 – CADETS: The Calvinist Cadet Corps is an independent (non-denominational) youth ministry organization whose purpose is to provide the local church with a ministry program that will enable them to effectively share Christ’s love with boys from their church and community.

April 29, 2012 – CRWRC DRS: Disaster Response Services mission is to show God’s love and to bring hope to disaster impacted communities in North America by restoring the homes and lives of those most vulnerable. They help communities build their capacity to prepare for and recover from disasters. They provide opportunities for Christians to honour the Lord by using their time, talents, and financial resources in service to others. 

SOMETHING2SHARE COMMUNITY PROJECTS:

Please take a minute after church to look over the various projects on the table in the Narthex and sign up before all the spots are filled!  Join us as we reach out into our community with the power of the gospel!  If you have any questions contact the Deacon in charge of the project.

This week Saturday we are helping at Loads of Love building a fence, and cleaning up outdoors.  Don’t forget to sign up.  Talk to Mark or Jeff B for more information!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

BUILDING PROPOSAL:

Council accepted a proposal from the Facility Enhancement Committee that will be presented at the congregational meeting for April 25thCouncil urges all members to attend this important congregational meeting to discuss this proposal as well as to vote on it.  Council decided that the proposal must have a 2/3 majority to be accepted.  Information on this proposal can be found in your Agenda for the Congregational Meeting.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: April 25th is the date for our Spring Congregational Meeting.  There is a coffee social at 7:30pm and the meeting begins at 8pm. 

 

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2012 (July 9-13): Please let us know by April 30 how you can help out this year. There is a signup sheet on the table in the narthex.  For more info or answers to your questions call Myrna Panjer or Wendy Horneman.  We look forward to a wonderful adventure with “Daniel” as we reach out to the children in our neighbourhood!  See you there

 

TECHIE PEOPLE NEEDED: We need to replace a couple of members of our audio/visual team and would love to have you join us.  Training will be provided.  Please contact Jeff for more information.  Thank you to Ken, Ray, and Phil who have given a lot of time in this important ministry in our church!  We wish you God’s blessings!

LIBRARY NEWS:  “Echoes of Titanic” by Mindy Starns Clark has Kelsey Tate in a turmoil as someone claims her great-grandmother, who survived the Titanic disaster, is not who she claimed to be.  The successful firm she established 100 years ago, is threatened.  Can Kelsey defend her family legacy and her livelihood? 

Do you have a van we can borrow?  Four youth and 2 adults are will be volunteering with Youth Unlimited SERVE in Woodstock, ON from July 7-14.  We need a van to to drive for the week we are there.  If you have a van or another 6 passenger vehicle we can borrow that week please talk to Pastor Jake

YOUNG ADULTS:

Ø  We are meeting this Tuesday at Pastor Jake's starting at 7:30.  All young adults aged 19ish-to-30something are invited to join one of the following discussion groups:  Group 1 will be reading The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis.  Group A will be reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan. 

YOUTH GROUP:

Ø  TONIGHT: 6:30-9:30 (notice time change) Plaster Casting with Mr McNamara.  This might get a little messy, and we will be plaster-casting our faces, so dress appropriately.

Ø  Next Week:  7-9pm.  Our Member of Parliament Dave VanKestern will be speaking to us about abortion.

Ø  All Ontario Youth Convention:  Don't forget to give Pastor Jake a copy of your registration and receipt.  Register online at www.allontario.com
