Welcome:

 

We welcome you to our worship service!  This morning is Father’s Day – Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads, Grandpas, Opas, Pakes, and Umpas!  Pastor William will lead us in worship this morning as he continues the study of Nehemiah.  We are also celebrating Lord’s Supper in this worship service.  May we be blessed as we worship together!  This evening our 6:30pm Combined Worship Service will be led by Grace CRC and located at First CRC.  Pastor William will be preaching on Proverbs 3:5-6 “A Gift of Spiritual Wisdom”.

GRACE CHURCH VISION STATEMENT: As disciples of Christ our purpose is to encourage spiritual growth in ourselves, our family, and our church family so that we will be the presence of Christ to all the world around us in all we say and do.

MORNING OFFERINGS:

June 19 – Aboriginal Ministries: In the face of discrimination the Christian Reformed Church seeks to meet the spiritual and social needs of Aboriginal Canadians through three urban Aboriginal ministries in Winnipeg, Regina, and Edmonton.  Their goal is to address spiritual needs, incorporate worship, and strive to help Aboriginal Canadians live dignified and harmonious lives.

June 26 – Missionary Support: This offering will assist missionaries to spread God’s word throughout the world.  Currently Grace Church supports Dan and Teresa H in Makaa, Dorothy M in Belize, Istifanus G with CRWRC, and Rev Sayler CRC Church planter in London, Ontario.

PRAYER MINISTRY:

·        Please come Sunday mornings at 9am and join in prayer for our church and community.  We meet in Room #2 (in the lower level)

·        Join us for prayer following the worship services in the room at the back of the sanctuary.  All requests remain confidential.

Please inform the office or your district elder if there are any announcements or concerns that you would like to go in the bulletin.   Please have all bulletin items in by Wednesday 7pm.  Office Hrs: Tues –Fri 9am–noon 

SENIOR HOME MINISTRY:

1.        There is a worship service today at MeadowPark Nursing Home (110 Sandys St.) at 2:30pm

2.        There is NO worship service today at Riverview Gardens.   It has been cancelled.

3.        There is a worship service on Friday at Residence-on-the-Thames at 10am.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

LIBRARY NEWS: “Home to Blessing” by Lauraine Snelling portrays Astrid Bjorklund who wants to use her medical training to serve God, possibly as a missionary. 

 “Seasons of Grace” by Beverly Lewis is her latest Amish-based series.  Something is dreadfully wrong and Grace Byler longs to uncover the secret that is tearing her family apart.

OPEN HOUSE: Dorothy Meyer of the Presbyterian Day School in Belize will be visiting Chatham at the end of June.  An open house in her honour will be held on June 29 at 7:30pm at the home of Mike & Kathy V.  For further details please see the flyer in your mailbox.

COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: All forms need to go to Rachel H by TODAY: Sunday June 19.  Please also submit a grad photo which will be returned to you.  Thank you.

JULY 18-22  

Now that you have seen the video in church of what our VBS is all about, aren't you excited to come and help?

We still need you in the following areas:

·         2 BABYSITTERS IN THE NURSERY: so far we have about 6 kids to watch.

·         1 OR 2 SHOPKEEPERS IN THE CARPENTRY SHOP: there is a kit to make the wooden sheep pull toy, you just need to help the kids make them

·         4 TRIBE LEADERS

·         1 OR 2 PEOPLE TO SEW  AHEAD OF TIME: sew sashes to tie around kids waists or heads to mark their tribes- so 11 each of 10 colours for a total of 110 sashes- it can be either cotton fabric or jersey knit, no fancy sewing

We still need the following items:

·         five spotlights

·         old brown pottery jugs

·         baskets

·         wooden beads

·         kids size camp chairs

·         non-electric wok

·         large dog cages so that Bill and Suze Mast can transport the animals for the petting zoo (if you have any small animals that we could borrow that would be great too)

·         Mexican style throw rugs- striped cotton

·         macrame cording

KIDS: invite your unchurched friends to come so that you can come too!

This year you are responsible for your own costume. We still have some robes left in the Friendship Room at Grace.  Just return them washed when you are done.

YOUNG ADULTS & ISH

·           TUESDAY:  We are meeting at the Snieder’s home at 7:30pm.
