Grace Christian Reformed Church

Welcome:

We welcome you to our worship service!  This morning Pastor William will lead us in worship.  We will be celebrating the baptism of Nolan in this service.  We will also be commissioning our VBS staff for the week of VBS.

This evening our combined worship service is at 6:30pm and it will be led by Grace CRC and located at First CRC.  Pastor William will be preaching on Philippians 1:1-11; 27-30 “Conduct Worthy of the Gospel”.  We look forward to celebrating Lord’s Supper in this Worship Service

UPCOMING SERVICES:

Sunday July 24: We are going to have a special outdoor worship service on our front lawn as we welcome our neighbours, especially those who attended our VBS program.  Instead of having a Friday night VBS wrap up program, this will be incorporated into our worship service.  We ask that you bring a lawn chair with you for this service.

UPCOMING LORD’S SUPPER SERVICES:

We are celebrating Lord’s Supper this evening in the combined evening worship service at 6:30pm.

GRACE CHURCH VISION STATEMENT: As disciples of Christ our purpose is to encourage spiritual growth in ourselves, our family, and our church family so that we will be the presence of Christ to all the world around us in all we say and do.

Thought for the week:  “Happiness is not in doing what you like but in liking what you do.”

PRAYER MINISTRY:

·        Please come Sunday mornings at 9am and join in prayer for our church and community.  We meet in Room #2 (in the lower level)

·        Join us for prayer following the worship services in the room at the back of the sanctuary.  All requests remain confidential.

MORNING OFFERINGS:

July 17 – Leprosy Bandage Project: The leprosy bandage project helps put the bandages into Leprosy clinics in areas such as Nigeria.  The bandages are ideal in that they can be washed and boiled and used over and over, they never wear out.  The project is funded by Chatham Grace CRC, Sarnia First CRC, The Knights of Columbus, The Catholic Women’s League and several organizations and individuals.  There are about 50 knitters who produced over 1,000 bandages last year.  Our own Bill and Margaret Grin are heavily involved in this ministry.

July 24 (NOTE THE CHANGE IN OFFERING) – Biblica (formerly the International Bible Society): Every year vacation Bible School has an Operation Kid-to-Kid project. Instead of just making crafts for themselves, they make something for needy children all over the world.  It is a tangible way for them to see how easy it is to share God's love with others. This year our project is a cloth "Jesus Loves Me' backpack that the kids decorate. They will also include a personalized bookmark and the organization that we are partnering with, Biblica (formerly the International Bible Society) will provide a Spanish language New Testament to put in each backpack. The cost of each Bible is $2. Each backpack costs $1.50. We are excited to make a difference in the lives of many children, at home and around the world.

Please inform the office or your district elder if there are any announcements or concerns that you would like to go in the bulletin.   Please have all bulletin items in by Wednesday 7pm.  Office Hrs: Tues –Fri 9am–noon

LIBRARY NEWS:  “Lady in Waiting” by Susan Meissner.   This novel is both historical and modern day, all based on an old ring in a box of relics from a British jumble sale.  A Latin inscription and the name Jane intrigues Jane Lindsay to delve into the history of this sixteenth-century ring and find out who Jane is.

GROW YOUR MEN GROW YOUR CHURCH: There is a Pastors and Leaders Workshop in London on September 24, 2011.  For more information or to register go to www.promisekeepers.ca.
