GRACE CHURCH: Congratulations to Bill & Hetty who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on September 8th. Congratulations to Gerard and Cecilia VanderVeen who are also celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on September 8th. Thanks be to God for our health and our families. May God continue to be faithful in blessing these marriages. We ask for continued prayers for Eppe who remains in hospital. Last week Art had a stroke and is also in the hospital. Please pray for and encourage our shut ins throughout this month: Tina, Bea, Mary, Al, Irene, Mary, Margaret, and others who are going through difficult times. Happy birthday to Tina who is turning 71 on September 8th. Have a blessed day.

Wallaceburg Christian School is hosting its 3rd annual golf tournament on Saturday, September 10 at the Countryview Golf Course on Highway 40. Tee off times are staggered, starting at 9 a.m. The day includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart and lunch, and the cost is $75 (cheques payable to Wallaceburg Christian School). The Laudate Dominum Choir is celebrating their 50th Anniversary season this year. They have reserved the new Chatham Capitol Theatre for Saturday, December 17th, 2011, to present Handel’s Messiah to the Chatham-Kent Community as they have done for more than forty-five years. The Chatham Christian High School Concert Choir will join with the Laudate Dominum Choir, orchestra and soloists for this anniversary presentation under the baton of Elisabeth Enzlin, long-time conductor of both ensembles. We invite previous, as well as new members, to join us and prepare for this wonderful evening of celebration on Mondays this fall, beginning Monday, September 12th at 7:30 pm in the Chatham Christian School Worship Centre, 475 Keil Drive South, Chatham. You are invited to attend the opening day assembly at the Wallaceburg Christian School as we begin a yearlong celebration of 50 years of Christian education for students in Wallaceburg, Dresden and the surrounding areas. The assembly will begin at 9 a.m. behind the school as we dedicate our new prayer garden, and begin our 2011-12 school year, with our theme of “Founded in Faith, Fanning the Flame”. Please join us!
ADULT EDUCATION: Pastor Jack will be leading a six-week adult education class on the book of Philippians, beginning Tuesday September 13 @ 8 pm. Focus will be on experiencing the joy of the Lord. All are welcome!
PIG ROAST AND PIE AUCTION: NeighbourLink is hosting the second annual pig roast and pie auction on Saturday, September 10. Dinner is at 5:30 at St. Paul's Congregational Church. You can order your tickets from Marvin Zondervan, Myrna Panjer, or Jack Leistra. Seating is limited, so please call early.
Fridays @ Grace: is looking for some people that would like to help out with crafts, games and storytelling. You do not have to come up with craft ideas just help the kids put them together. The games are fun time in the gym and supervising the kids. Story telling is with kids grades 3-5 you just have to come up with a message about 15min long. We meet Fridays at 6:00 the program runs from 6:30-7:30pm. It is really awesome watching kids run into the church excited to be there. CHATHAM-KENT CHRISTIAN MEN’S CHOIR: Our first practice will be Tuesday September 6th at 7:30 pm at First Reformed Church -the corner of Lacroix and Indian Creek Rd. We are looking forward to a new season with our new director and offering an invitation for more men to join us - all voices are welcome! Another highlight for this year will be hosting the Eastern Ontario Festival of Praise in April.
