We welcome you to our worship service! Pastor William Koopmans will lead us in worship this morning. We welcome Istifanus Gimba, one of the missionaries we support, serving in Mozambique, to speak to us this morning as well.
This evening: our combined worship service is at 5pm and it will be led by First CRC and located at Grace CRC. Pastor Jack will be preaching on 1 John 5:1-13 and Heidelberg Catechism Lord’s Day 8 “Faith in the Triune God”.

October 30: Andrew Aukema will be leading us in worship in the am worship service. The Combined Reformation Day service will be at 5pm at Grace with the Reformed Church in charge.

MORNING OFFERINGS:
October 23, 2011 – Diaconate: The Grace church diaconate seeks to provide aid to those in need both in our church and our surrounding communities. A portion of the money collected for the diaconate goes to the Diaconal Ministries Canada, whose mission is to inspire, equip and encourage deacons, churches and their partners in transforming communities with the love of Christ.
October 30, 2011 – Home Missions: Christian Reformed Home Missions follows Gods lead in the movement of the Gospel in North America. Their goal is to give leadership to the CRC in its task of bringing the gospel to the people in Canada and the United States. Working through regional teams, Home Missions supports a diverse group of church planters, pastors, campus ministries and others who are called to renew communities together.
PRAYER MINISTRY:
· Please come Sunday mornings at 9am and join in prayer for our church and community. We meet in Room #2 (in the lower level)
· Join us for prayer following the worship services in the room at the back of the sanctuary. All requests remain confidential.
Please inform the office or your district elder if there are any announcements or concerns that you would like to go in the bulletin. Please have all bulletin items in by Wednesday 7pm. Office Hrs: Tues –Fri 9am–noon
SENIOR HOME MINISTRY:
1. There is a worship service today at Maple City Residence (97McFarlane) at 2pm.
2. There is a worship service today at Chatham Retirement Resort at 3pm.
3. On Friday there is a worship service at Residence-on-the-Thames at 10am.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
BOOKS AND TOYS FOR THE NURSERY: Grace church nursery is looking for 'gently used' board books (the thick and durable cardboard books) and toys for children ages 6 months to 3 years. If you have any books and toys that are in good condition that you are looking to donate, please consider donating them to our nursery. Please bring your donations down to the nursery any Sunday morning. Thank you so much for sharing, our little ones appreciate it!
SENIOR’S GAME NIGHT: The Youth Group invites all our grandparents and senior friends to a games night on Sunday, November 6. Starting after the evening service we will provide a light dinner (meat and cheese buns). Then let the games begin... Euchre, Wii Bowling, and Shuffle Board. If you have a shuffle board we can borrow for the night please talk to Pastor Jake.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We would like to send Christmas cheer to our neighbours around our church by giving them Christmas Cards and inviting them to attend our special Christmas services this December. We are going to get together with members of First and Calvary on October 26th at 7pm to make 500 Christmas Cards. Please set this date aside and come and help out. Both men and women are needed and the jobs are very easy to do. Refreshment s and goodies will be supplied as we work. We will meet at Grace CRC in the Fellowship Hall! Please bring your own adhesive if you have it to help keep the costs down. All other materials will be provided. For more information please talk to Julie Coolen. See you there!
THINKING OF THE EXCITEMENT OF SHOVELLING SNOW THIS WINTER?!: Then this is for you. We are looking for someone who would be willing to clear the snow and salt the walkways around the church throughout the winter. If you are willing to help out with this please talk to Keith Groen.
FELLOWSHIP CLUB: We are going bowling on October 29th at Bowlerama at 7:30pm. Please let Linda or Marg know if you are able to come.
LIBRARY NEWS: Randy Alcorn's book "Courageous" is now in your Library. This book will be shown on DVD at some time in the future at the Capital Theater or possibly our church, as it was cancelled last Friday.

TUESDAY NIGHT: We continue our study of the Alpha video series at Pastor Jake's home on Tuesday night at 7:30pm.
Please make sure you have completed the waiver/registration form prior to attending Youth Events. Completed forms can be given to Pastor Jake or placed in his church mailbox.
TONIGHT: Scavenger Hunt! Are you up for a new scavenger hunt challenge this year? If you have a digital camera that uses an SD card please bring it along. We will need one per team. Parents, we may need a few extra drivers to take out groups of 4-6 youth. Contact Pastor Jake this afternoon if you would like to help. All other parents, grandparents, and friends, you may receive a short and friendly visit this evening.
SNACKS: Some of you have suggested that you would like to bring baked goodies for snacks to Youth Nights. If you would like to treat us to your baked goods we would love to eat them! Just bring them with Sunday evening.
KIMBERLY DONATIONS: We are still short a few dollars for our sponsor child this month. If you forgot to bring a loonie or toonie to youth last Sunday you can still give a donation this week. Look for the blue donation box in the church narthex at Youth Group tonight.
NEXT WEEK: We will continue our series "Never Too Young" with a discussion of the young king Josiah (2 Chronicles 34-35). At just 16 years of age Josiah was dedicated to seeking God in a world that rejected Him... Come hear his story and what it says to young people today!
