Who We Are

We are called Christian because we confess, belong to, and follow Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.

We are called Reformed because our history is rooted in the 16th century Protestant Reformation.  We continue to affirm the Reformation teachings of salvation by faith in Christ alone, and the Bible as the only rule of faith and conduct.

We are called Church because we are part of the universal family of God, through which our relationships to God, to each other, and the world are nurtured.

BULLETIN BOUQUET:

THANK YOU: to the people to greet us and usher us to our seats each Sunday.  You are the face of the church and we look forward to seeing your warm welcoming presence each week.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

EVERYONE LOVES A GOOD MYSTERY ESPECIALLY WHEN COMBINED WITH FOOD!:  We are excited to be planning a mystery lunch event on Sunday November 27TH.  You can sign up either to have people over or to go to someone else’s place for lunch.  The mystery is that you don’t know who else will be going.  This is a fun social event in which we can get to know each other socially.  We encourage you to participate by signing up on the sheet that’s on the table in the narthex.  You can also phone Claire or Julie at the church office (519-436-1558) for more information.

GRACE PHONE DIRECTORY: It’s that time of year again to update your contact information for the Grace CRC phone directory.  Please take a moment to check over your information and make any needed corrections beside your entry.  If it is correct, place a check mark beside your entry.  If you have adult children or parents listed feel free to check over that information as well.  Thank you.

DEACON’S SENIOR CHRISTMAS DINNER: will be held on Wednesday December 7th.  Please note this change from the November calendar.  If you are a senior you will receive a formal invitation in your mail slot in a couple of weeks.

DEACON ASSISTANTS: In part of Council’s goals on having the youth more involved in the church Worship Committee is working on having the children in grades 5 to 8 more involved in worship.  One of the ways in which we are doing this is having the grade 6 students partner with the deacons once a month in collecting the offering.

SENIOR’S GAME NIGHT: The Youth Group invites all our grandparents and senior friends to a games night tonight.   Starting after the evening service we will provide a light dinner (meat and cheese buns) in the fellowship hall.  Then let the games begin... Euchre, Wii Bowling, and Shuffle Board.

LIBRARY NEWS: Terri Blackstock’s latest novel “Shadow in Serenity” has Carny suspicious of Logan who is the smoothest, slickest, handsomest man Serenity, Texas, has ever seen.  But Carny knows a con artist when she sees one—and she has seen plenty.  She is determined to expose Logan’s lies before he sucks the town dry.
