THANK YOU: To all the people who are involved with our Simulcasts. Thank you for your continued work planning all the details for these events!

FLOWER MINISTRY: There are still a lot of spots needing to be filled to donate flowers to the church. If these spots aren’t filled we will have to cancel this ministry which has been a real blessing to those who have received the flowers. Please consider being a part of encouraging church family members who are shut in or going through difficult circumstances. The sign up sheet is on the table in the Narthex. Thank you.
FROM COUNCIL: For the last few months, and especially the last few weeks, we have been preparing for Pastor William’s sabbatical. Feb.6 seemed so far away but all of a sudden, it's here. For those of us who expect Pastor William to disappear during his sabbatical, it's only partly true. He will still be around Chatham a fair bit while he's writing a commentary on the biblical book "Haggai". He is able to do a fair amount of his research from his home and from his office in church using that modern tool called "the internet". If you run across him or Louise by all means say "Hi" but we all need to be reminded, that he is on a sabbatical, and it is not business as usual. If there is a need in the congregation, please call your district elder, your council chair (Ray VanderSluis), or call Pastor Heslinga. Pastor Heslinga has been engaged for the period of the sabbatical to preach for most of the Sunday worship services. He is also available for counselling, Spiritual and otherwise. We as council, feel very blessed that he has made himself available during Pastor William's absence. As council and congregation we wish Pastor William the Lord's blessing during the next few months, and we look forward to the time when he will take up his ministry among us again.
DISTRICT #4 SOCIAL: Everyone in district #4 is welcome to come downstairs for coffee after church. If you’re unsure if that’s you, check the number on your mail slot. See you there!
Timothy Leadership Training module Caring for God’s People: Elders/Deacons/Pastoral Care Workers – This is a reminder to sign-up if you would like to attend the training session on Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, at Grace CRC. You can also contact Roseanne Baker at 519-355-1260 to register, or if you have any questions.
LIBRARY NEWS: “Angels in the ER” by Robert D. Lesslie, MD, is a collection of true stories - some thoughtful, some delightful, some heart pumping - you’ll see close-up the joys and struggles of patients. Some angels are nurses, a few are doctors, and many are everyday people.
SCHOOL AND DENTAL SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR LIMA, PERU: Rebecca is going on a mission trip to Lima, Peru in May and needs donations of school and dental supplies to bring with her. These supplies will be given to children in underdeveloped schools, as well as helping to teach and promote an ongoing oral hygiene campaign. Suggested supplies include pencils, pencil crayons, crayons, paper (construction or plain), erasers, pencil sharpeners, notebooks, highlighters, glue, scissor, rulers, colouring books, essentially anything you would send with your child to school, as well as toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss. Each member partaking in this volunteer experience is asked to bring a suitcase full of supplies, therefore a suitcase will be place in the narthex for supplies to be dropped off to. Thank-you in advance for all your help and donations. – Rebecca
Who We Are
We are called Christian because we confess, belong to, and follow Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
We are called Reformed because our history is rooted in the 16th century Protestant Reformation. We continue to affirm the Reformation teachings of salvation by faith in Christ alone, and the Bible as the only rule of faith and conduct.
We are called Church because we are part of the universal family of God, through which our relationships to God, to each other, and the world are nurtured.
